Today’s Theme for Worship: He lives to pour out his Spirit. 50 days after the Passover, God’s Old Testament people celebrated Pentecost (Greek for “50”) to commemorate the harvest and remember the giving of the Law. Pentecost is the third great festival of the Church, along with the nativity and the Resurrection.

Today’s Theme for Worship: He Lives to Give Me Eager Expectation of Glory. The Church waits. While we wait inthe time between Christ’s Ascension and his return on judgement day, we know that God will work everything out for our good.

Today’s Theme for Worship: He lives and calls us to live for him. Love for God who lives in us leads us to a life of obedience. Love for our risen Lord means obedience to his commands.

Today’s Theme for Worship: He lives to be the only way to heaven. The benefits of Jesus Christ are meant for every man, woman, and child who ever lived. That Jesus is the Jesus Christ only way to heaven is very offensive to many, yet it is the most inclusive message in the world.

Today’s Theme for Worship: Shepherds were considered the ideal citizens of Israel; they made sure their sheep were always safe and well taken care of. Jesus makes sure the same is true for us. He feeds us with his Word and protects us from Satan.

Today’s Theme for Worship: He Live to Restore My Hope. Christ’s disciples have victory over the feeling of hopelessness. Jesus died, but he is dead no longer.

Today’s Theme for Worship: He Lives to Give Me Proof and Peace. Either Jesus is still dead, or Jesus rose. Either Jesus is a complete waste of your time, or he is your only hope for salvation. Just as he did with Thomas, Jesus gives us proof and peace.

Today’s Theme for Worship: He Lives to Take Me from Death to Life. Without the resurrection of Jesus, death would appear permanent. He lives, and it makes a difference! I too shall live. In every possible way, Jesus takes us from death to life.

Today’s Theme for Worship: Good Friday: his punishment, our peace. Good Friday is very different than a funeral. Death is something we wish we could forget. In the case of Jesus, his death is the very thing we gather to celebrate and remember. We dwell on the details, for we know why Jesus willingly endured…

Today’s Theme for Worship: Look up to get a glimpse of heaven. The Lord’s Supper gives us a glimpse of the heavenly feast where we will eat of the eternal manna and drink from the river of God’s delights forever.
